Instruction – Classes for beginning your research, intermediate and advanced research techniques. Most are conducted in a series of one hour sessions, once or twice a week for a total of 3 to 6 sessions. All sessions include a half-hour Q&A for a total of one and a half hours.
Lectures – Single events with a variety of subjects such as “The ABC’s of Family Research”, “DNA – Just the basics, please!”, “Interviewing your relatives”, “Search strategies you never thought of – Search sites you never heard of!” and others. These are also generally one hour events with a half hour of Q&A.
Single session lecture on the basics of family research
Consultation – Personal attention to your research needs intending to define a specific research goal prior to contracting for services. Specific goals are critical so as to set the boundaries on what will be researched and the limits of time and expense.

My Mom is interested in having some genealogy work completed. Please email me some information
Hello Herb, I’ve emailed you separately to discuss your needs. Thanks! Dave
Hi Dave, I have just in the last couple of days started watching the DearMyrtle study Group on Elizabeth Shawn Mills Quick Lessons and I was startled to attention when you were speaking. I also am a Grantham descendant from John Grantham and Ann Brown (our common ancestor) and his son John Grantham and _____ Jernigan. I also have your Tabitha Grantham and Hezekiah Robertson/Robison/Robinson in my tree. However, at the time I put them in my tree I was a “person collector” and culled my Grantham names from the Grantham Gazette that is published by Ron Johnson. Over the last 5-10 years have become more of a record collector and was not doing anything else with the records after I clicked on the “shaky leaf.” Now I have started going back to my ancestors generation by generation and adding the written citation to my source. I have watched many seminars and am just now getting to DearMyrtles’a and I am enjoying the study groups.
Hello Cousin! Nice to “meet” you. I apologize for the delayed response as I’ve been incredible busy. How did you connect me to our Grantham ancestors? It sounds odd that I might have said something in MWM… Anyway, I’ll lemail you directly so that you can get in touch. I can “invite” you to the 45,000 member Ancestry tree I’ve been putting together over the past 20+ years.
Dave
I too am a descendant of John and Ann!

I am the chair of the Seminars Committee of the North San Diego County Genealogical Society in California. We are looking for a speaker for our Fall Seminar at the end of October, 2023. Your work looks really interesting. Are you available and/or interested?
I would be interested in having a conversation with you about our seminar which will be virtual.
My contact information is below.
Thanks, ReBecca
Hello ReBecca Henry,
Thanks for the contact and yes, I’d be happy to discuss your plans. You can contact me directly at dave@oldbones.info or by phone at 413-237-1634. Since you’re San Diego, I’m curious to know if you are familiar with Randy Seaver. Along with dozens of genealogists from all over the world, Randy and I were together on many years of “Mondays With Myrt” right up until she retired.
I’m looking forward to a conversation!
